The sharp reticle point makes it one of the most accurate rifle scopes I've come across----it is my turtle killer.

BELARUS PO 6X42 MILITARY RIFLESCOPE 2ND 100-600 YD REVIEW using bullet path data derived from Oehler's Ballistic Explorer program

PO_6X42_AR-15_LT-SIDE_2-4499_SML.jpg (33367 bytes) PO_6X42_AR-15_LT-SIDE_2-4499_LRG.jpg (128939 bytes)

CONDITIONS: 90 Fahrenheit; 29 inches Hg.; 3-8-mph varying wind coming from 5-6 o'clock directions from 0-250 yds.,  8-15 mph varying wind coming from 3-7 o'clock directions form 300-600 yds.; clear sky.

TEST GUN: Colt Match Target .223 Flattop HBAR rifle (post-ban AR-15); HBAR chrome-lined barrel 1-in-9 twist.  The gun was not cleaned during the sight-in and shooting test.  A rubber AccuWedge was installed under the rear lug of the upper receiver to minimize "play" between receivers (no AccuWedge----no 1 MOA).

AMMO USED:

SIGHT HEIGHT: LOW PROFILE

SHOOTING REST: Protektor mechanical rest with front and rear shooting bags (not rigidly mounted).

BULLET PATH DATA: I entered bullet characteristics and muzzle velocity into my Oehler Ballistic Explorer program and let it calculate the bullet path measurements I used when making reticle adjustments.  The Oehler Ballistic Explorer bullet path data was very accurate.

The Belarus PO 6X42 Military Riflescope is probably my favorite out of all the PO riflescopes, mainly because the reticle point is very sharp and crisp (600-yards was no problem for this 6X magnification riflescope).  The reticle adjustments are  3 clicks = 1 MOA.  The image on all the PO riflescopes is almost excellent (very clear almost to the edge, and very bright for a 1" diameter tube).   The PO 6x42 is a diopter configuration (loosen the lock ring to adjust the eyepiece).  All the PO riflescopes are nitrogen purged and waterproof (to what depth I do not know).  The PO 6x42 Belarus Military Riflescope is a great scope and a great value for the price.

This is the target I was shooting at: PO_6X42_100-YD_UNSHOT.jpg (42812 bytes)  The top target is the target I aimed at for all shots from 100-200-300-400-500-600-500-400-300-200 yards.  The center target is the target I aimed at while shooting the ending 5-shot 100-yard group.

**100&200 yard** After sighting in the PO 6x42 riflescope, I shot this 100-yard shot on the red bulls-eye, about 3/16" right & 3/16" low, and then the 200-shot 1-7/16 left & 15/16 low. PO_6X42_100200-YD_SHOTS_CUP_2-6534_SML.jpg (40420 bytes)

For the PO 6x42 riflescope, 3 clicks = 1 MOA.  With a 2.72" drop for 200 yards, (2.72 x 3) / 2 = approx. 4 clicks up, but I used only three, and that is why the 200-yd shot landed slightly low.

**300 yard** With 11.88" drop at 300-yards, (11.88 x 3) / 3 = approx. 12 clicks up total - 3 previous = 9 clicks used.  The 300 yard shot landed 1-1/4" right & 1/4" low: PO_6X42_12300-YD_SHOTS_CUP_2-6536_SML.jpg (39494 bytes)

**400 YARD** With 29.37" drop, (29.37 x 3) / 4 = approx. 22 clicks up total - 12 previous clicks = 10 clicks used.  The 400-yard shot landed 1/8" left & 1-3/8" high: PO_6X42_123400-YD_SHOTS_CUP_2-6538_SML.jpg (49542 bytes)

**500 YARD**  With 57.85" drop, (57.85 x 3) / 5 = approx. 35 clicks up total - 22 previous clicks = 13 clicks used.  The 500-yard shot landed 3-3/4" right & 5-7/8" high: PO_6X42_1234500-YD_SHOTS_CUP_2-6540_SML.jpg (41913 bytes) (I knew I had aimed a bit high when releasing the trigger).

**600 YARD** With 100.85" drop, (100.85 x 3) / 6 - approx. 50 clicks up total - 35 previous clicks = 15 clicks used.  The 600-yard shot landed 11/16" right & 1-9/16" high: PO_6X42_12345600-YD_SHOTS_CUP_2-6542_SML.jpg (45124 bytes)

** 500 YARD COMING BACK**  I dialed down 15 clicks and shot this 500-yard shot 7-7/16" right & 1-1/4" high: PO_6X42_123456500-YD_SHOTS_CUP_6544_SML.jpg (42356 bytes)

** 400 YARD COMING BACK** I dialed down 13 clicks and shot this 400-yard shot 4-7/8" right & 6-1/8" high:PO_6X42_1234565400-YD_SHOTS_CUP_2-6546_SML.jpg (44746 bytes)

** 300 YARD COMING BACK**  I dialed down 10 clicks and shot this 300-yard shot 1/4" left & 3/16" low: PO_6X42_12345654300-YD_SHOTS_CUP_2-6548_SML.jpg (45931 bytes)

** 200 YARD COMING BACK**  I dialed down 9 clicks and shot this 200-yard shot 1-1/16" right & 1-1/4" low: PO_6X42_123456543200-YD_SHOTS_CUP_2-6550_SML.jpg (44950 bytes) PO_6X42_123456543200-YD_SHOTS_CUP_2-6550_LRG.jpg (132385 bytes)

**100 YARD COMING BACK** The top target was getting full of holes, so after shooting 100+200+300+400+500+600+500+400+300+200-yard shots at the top target, I chose to shoot a 5-shot 100-yard group at the center target.  It's important to note that at some point after shooting the 600-yard shot, I tightened the scope mount, and this tightening of the scope mount is probably what caused the 100-yard 5-shot group to be just a bit right of center.  For the 100-yard 5-shot group: 2-shot = 5/16"; 3-shot = 11/32"; 4-shot = 3/4"; 5-shot = 1-1/4" PO_6X42_ENDING_100-YD_5-SHOT_GROUP_CUP_2-6552_SML.jpg (47042 bytes) PO_6X42_ENDING_100-YD_5-SHOT_GROUP_CUP_2-6552_LRG.jpg (135549 bytes)

Law that forbid ownership of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined, nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants.  They serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.                                                          --Thomas Jefferson

Before the NWO Slave Masters can enslave and execute you & your family, they first must disarm you.  Throughout history the progression has always been DISARMING, ENSLAVING, and then EXECUTING.   Enemies of the U.S. Constitution want your guns so much----it's like acid burning in their brains!
